Company of Thieves
At Mercury Lounge, NYC. Genevieve Schatz, the lead singer, is so adorable. Like a cupcake. A cupcake that can rock hard and belt it out like nobody's business. I never would have pinned them for being the moody background music during Gossip Girl, but I guess thats whats gathered them lots of attention, 'specially from the ever lucrative teen market. Check 'em out.

Early this week
Ate bagels in Chelsea.
Walked Simone on the JGMZ route.
Listened to Regina. I've had her new album on repeat for a month and still can't get enough.

NYC has hippies too!
Austin, you aren't the only town that's keeping it weird. This moment brought me back to my nostalgic ACL festival days and made me a tinge sad that I'll be missing it this year after a solid 4 years in a row. Just a tiny bit though-- I won't miss that heat and dust that has become so synonymous with the early October weekend.
Anyway, this chic was getting excited about Yeasayers at Pier 54 on the Hudson. And who could blame her? They rock.

Day of exploring
Thanks Natty for the delicious waffle party! Loved meeting her fellow FADER interns Samantha (who makes beautiful jewelry right outta her home! Check the link) and Cassi, pictured below in B&W.
After filling our bellies with waffles and nutella, we headed off to a day of fun in the city and encountered some particularly excited Dominicans on the train. We had apparently missed the parade, but they were super fun to hang out with on the train.
Sleepy on the way home.

Last post from Texas...
...although I'm already somewhat settled in Brooklyn right now.
I'm absolutely loving it so far, except that we have no furniture whatsoever except beds. Anyone looking to get rid of a couch in the NYC area? I can provide a loving home.
But aside from getting the actual apartment set up, every day has been a new awesome adventure. Photos from that later.
But now, a final homage to my home state and the people in it. Love and miss you guys all so much already. Come visit now! (Yes, I'm talking to you, V, Amy, Callie, Ranj, Kelli, Colin, Matt, Jeremy, Medzy, Catherine, Donna... this list could go on for quite some time...) So heres to the absolute best friends a girl could ask for and priceless times with them in the past and more importantly-- in the future.
XOXO til next time.
My lil sis gives Grandmamma a hug and kiss at the end of our always great family reunion.
Kelli and Matt are reflected in the still waters of the greenbelt at Lost Creek- still the best undiscovered spot that is never, ever dry.
V smokin' hookah on one of her many bday celebrations. I'm betting on 6 months til V's callin me looking for a place in NYC :) Get your behind up here girl!
Jeremy, you know I have no idea why you don't already live up here. See you in a week though! We'll eat some moldy cheese and love it.
Dear Nietzsche: I can only hope that Simone will be half the dog you are. After conquering the philosophical world and mothering 9 puppies amongst other feats, I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of your amazingly slobbery life.
I just like this photo of a moth on the swing outside our Eilers House. Goodbye moth. Hello new era.
